BLOCKCHAIN
What is blockchain and what does it mean for my Breitling watch?
A blockchain is an immutable electronic database for storing information. Since 2020, every new Breitling watch has come with a blockchain-backed ownership certificate called an NFT or "Non-Fungible Token." This NFT acts as your watch's digital fingerprint. It houses your watch's product information and allows you to transfer ownership of your watch securely with a simple transaction. It also keeps a record of any time it has changed ownership, providing a record of its history. To claim your Breitling NFT, scan the QR code on your watch's warranty card. With it, you gain access to premium services like our online estimation tool and the Breitling Trade resale platform (subject to availability in your country).
I have already claimed my NFT in the external wallet, can I still register my watch on my Breitling account?
Of course!
By registering an account on Breitling.com, you become a member of Breitling's inner circle and benefit from even more value-added services and benefits. They include managing your Breitling collection in your dedicated Breitling account, use of our online estimation tool and the Breitling Trade resale platform, and access to special gifts and experiences.
Any Breitling owner can register an entire collection of Breitling watches on Breitling.com and access all related documentation (COSC certificate, user manual, warranty status) at any time.
You can either create an account directly on Breitling.com, or by scanning the QR code on your watch's warranty card and clicking "REGISTER MY WATCH."
If you first claimed your watch's NFT in the external (Arianee) wallet and follow the step above, your watch will be registered to your Breitling account and your NFT will remain accessible in your external wallet.
If you have not yet claimed your watch's NFT, registering your watch to your Breitling account will activate your NFT directly in your Breitling account wallet.
Please note that only watches produced since 2013 can be registered in your Breitling account.

HOW DO I CHOOSE A WATCH SIZE?
Watch sizes, given in millimeters, indicate the diameter of the watch head. This measurement has no relation to the size of the strap (see “How do I choose a strap or bracelet size?”). Instead, it’s a matter of how much of a presence would you like the watch to have on your wrist. Choose a narrower diameter if you have a smaller wrist or prefer something more subtle, or opt for a wider diameter if you have a larger wrist or simply want to make a statement. As reference, here are our standard watch sizes in millimeters with inches conversion.
in mm approx in inches 32mm 1.25 inches 36mm 1.42 inches 38mm 1.50 inches 40mm 1.57 inches 42mm 1.65 inches 44mm 1.73 inches 46mm 1.81 inches 48mm 1.89 inches |
HOW DO I CHOOSE A STRAP OR BRACELET SIZE?
To find the best fit of a strap or bracelet, please use our wrist measuring tool. Most of our straps come in Short, Standard and Long lengths, with ranges varying slightly based on case size and thickness of the compatible watch.
STRAP SIZE | WRIST SIZE |
Small | 135mm to 160mm |
Standard | 160mm to 190mm |
Large | 190mm to 215mm |
We offer complimentary sizing of metal bracelets when a watch is purchased online or through our contact center. For rubber straps, we recommend a visit to one of our boutiques or authorized dealers to properly size the band.
How do I claim my gift with purchase?
Complete your watch purchase while logged into My Account on Breitling.com, and we'll show our appreciation with a gift from our range of lifestyle and travel accessories. Your selected gift will be sent separately, approximately 45 days after you have received your order.

ABOUT MY BREITLING
Where do I find a Breitling store?
What’s the difference between a quartz watch and a mechanical watch?
The movement of a quartz watch is powered by a battery; it is driven and regulated by a quartz crystal and an electronic oscillator.
The current Breitling quartz models are all fitted with a thermocompensated SUPERQUARTZ TM movement, containing a temperature gauge thus offering its user a precision of +/- 15 seconds a year; their integrated circuit contains no less than 8’000 components.
The movement of a mechanical watch is driven by a spring, called the mainspring, which needs to be wound. This can either be done manually, using the crown, or, in the case of an automatic mechanical watch, by using the kinetic energy provided by the wearer’s movements. All current Breitling watches are Chronometer certified and comply with the standard set by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres – COSC), which allows a maximum deviation of -4 to +6 seconds per day.
What’s the difference between a chronometer and a chronograph?
A chronograph is a watch with stopwatch functions, enabling the measurement of the duration of an event, using a specific hand or display that can be started, stopped and returned to zero.
A chronometer is a watch that has obtained a certification by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres – COSC). To achieve this certification, the movement of the watch must successfully pass specific precision tests in different positions and at different temperatures, over a 15-day period. The standards set by the COSC allow a maximum average deviation of : -4 to +6 seconds per day for mechanical watches and +/- 0.07 seconds per day for quartz watches. The movements of all current Breitling watches have earned this certification.
WARRANTY
How can I be sure I am buying a genuine Breitling watch?
All Breitling watches sold at our authorized stores are authentic. The Breitling boutiques and authorized retailers are listed HERE.
Beyond that, the safest way to identify an authentic Breitling is handing it to an expert, for example an authorized Breitling store or service center. Since the year 2000, all Breitling watches carry a unique identification number: their serial number, which can be checked within the Breitling network against the model reference of the watch.

Is my Breitling covered under warranty? How long does the warranty last?
All Breitling watches purchased from Breitling authorized retailers or directly from Breitling SA or one of its subsidiary companies are covered by an international warranty valid for two years after purchase, except for watches with a mechanical manufacture movement, which are covered during 5 years (provided that water resistance tests are performed every 2 years following the date of purchase by an authorized Breitling service center).

To which extent is my watch water resistant?
The water resistance of your Breitling depends on the construction of its case. However your watch needs to be regularly serviced in order to keep its original level of water resistance: this is due to the fact that the gaskets sealing the watch-case naturally dry out over time, and therefore need to be replaced. Consequently your watch should undergo a water resistance test every year and a maintenance service every 2 years.
The degree of water resistance of your Breitling is described either in meters, or in bars (1 bar~10 m = approx. 33 ft). Note: these figures reflect a technical norm and do not represent the exact depth the watch can be immersed at, while being worn. “Water resistant up to X meters” means the watch can be exposed to the pressure that it would have to sustain, if it was placed at X meters depth in a completely static environment and position. However the wearer’s movements (diving, jumping, swimming, etc…) as well as the force of the water (shower jets, river currents, etc…) can considerably increase the pressure on your watch.
You will find a table listing the level of water resistance you can expect of your watch HERE
Under: SERVICE > USER TIPS AND MAINTEANANCE > INFORMATION ON WATER RESISTANCE
Can I go swimming with my Breitling?
In order to wear a watch while swimming, it needs to be water resistant up to 5 bars (50 m / 165 ft) at least. For diving, snorkeling and water-skiing, for example, a water resistance up to 10 bars (100 m / 330 ft) would be required.
Moreover, Breitling strongly recommends that bracelets other than metal bracelets and rubber straps not be used in water.

DOCUMENTS & AUTHENTICATION
How can I authenticate my Breitling?
To authenticate your Breitling watch, it must be sent to one of our Breitling Main Centers. Begin by sending your watch to any Breitling service center or by bringing it into a Breitling boutique, requesting a Certificate of Authenticity, and your watch will be passed on accordingly. Fees and return times will vary.
An authentication includes the analysis of the watch and the delivery of a Certificate of Authenticity. If non-compliant parts need to be exchanged to return the watch to its original condition, these will be invoiced separately.
Breitling service centers and boutiques do not assess the value of your timepiece. For this kind of information, we suggest our online estimation tool available in the USA and Europe by registering a My Account on Breitling.com and claiming your Breitling NFT. This tool can be used for most watches produced after 2013.
